The 5th session of the School Technical Council of 2019 was recently held to discuss various topics relevant to school operations and student education. The governors and representatives of the school districs of Texas convened to examine the current products and services presented by the Texas Education Agency. Following the productive session, a total of 7 products and services have been approved.
The first product affirmed was a purchase card program that allows school staff members to make business-related purchases without having to use their personal funds. An incentive program that gives priority access to after-school activities to students with exceptional academic performance or exemplary behavior was also accepted. A special academic assistance initiative that serves to reduce the academic risk of the students by offering assistance to them during certain class periods was also accepted.
Additionally, a social-emotional wellbeing program was also given the go-ahead. This program aims to ensure the well-being of students on all levels – physically, emotionally, and mentally. A professional development program was also approved to help teachers and school administrators stay ahead of the times with innovative educational practices and advancements. Lastly, two products related to the business-side of school operations were accepted, namely an analysis tool aimed at helping school staff to better manage their budget and a funding program aimed at helping schools procure resources they may be lacking.
The School Technical Council of 2019 has concluded the 5th session by giving the stamp of approval to these 7 products and services. It is expected that their implementation and utilization throughout Texas schools will yield a highly beneficial educational environment for all.
